Royal Bank of Canada designated a global systemically important bank

Today the Financial Stability Board released its 2017 list of global systemically important banks (G-SIBs) and OSFI confirms the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) G-SIB designation. RBC is already subject to OSFI’s framework for domestic systemically important banks (D-SIBs) and these requirements are generally consistent with the G-SIB framework. Consequently, RBC is well-positioned to meet the G-SIB requirements starting in January 2019.
