Accountability OSFI's Disclosure Practices
OSFI recognizes its obligation as a public institution to disclose information that is in the public interest or that is necessary for the public to make informed decisions. It discloses a significant amount of information about its business and the institutions it regulates through, for example, release of financial data, internal audit reports, external consultations, and annual reports. At the same time, legislation (specifically, section 22 of the OSFI Act) prevents OSFI from disclosing information about the business or affairs of specific financial institutions.
