In 2001, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) created the International Advisory Group (IAG) to assist selected emerging market economies in enhancing their supervisory systems. The assistance OSFI has been providing through the IAG is being discontinued, effective immediately. However, the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), in partnership with the Toronto Leadership Centre (www.torontocentre.org) and with the support of OSFI, has agreed to continue the work of the IAG for an interim period while longer term alternatives are explored.
