This is to advise you of the changes that were made to the Financial Information Committee (FIC) regulatory forms and instructions. These changes can be viewed on OSFI’s website at www.osfi-bsif.gc.ca under Regulatory Data and Returns > Filing Financial Returns > Deposit-taking Institutions > Manual of Reporting Forms and Instructions.

Changes were made to the following regulatory reporting forms and instructions effective for 2022 filing:

New Bank of Canada Metadata Ad Hoc Data Collection

As you may be aware, as part of this year’s annual housekeeping cycle, the Bank of Canada is also implementing a recurring Metadata ad hoc data collection for DSIBs as a pilot project effective January 2022. The details for the ad hoc data collection were provided separately. By the end of 2022, a decision will be made as to whether this new ad hoc data collection will become an official regulatory return or will be discontinued.
