We are pleased to advise you that only minor changes were made to the Annual Information Return (OSFI-49) and no changes were made to the Certified Financial Statements (OSFI-60), for reporting information on a plan year ending between October 1, 2012 and September 30, 2013. Minor updates or corrections have also been made to the guides for 2012/2013. OSFI now requires an administrator to file an AIR annually, while there are any assets remaining in the pension fund.
The Guide and “Sample” forms may be viewed on our Website at www.osfi-bsif.gc.ca under Pension Plans / Filing Instructions and Returns.
You are reminded that you must file the above two returns electronically via the ADT web portal. A unique user ID and password is required to use the web portal. You will need to share these items with parties filing on your behalf.
We would also like to remind you that in order to eliminate the requirement for the filing of paper copies of the returns, the Certification pages for both the OSFI-49 and OSFI-60 no longer need to be sent to OSFI. However, plan administrators are expected to keep signed copies of the OSFI-49 and OSFI-60 in their records.
By choosing to use the secure web portal to upload your returns, the Diskette Validation Reports no longer need to be sent to OSFI.

The User Guide contains mandatory file naming conventions for returns. These can be found under Section 9.
