Priority 4: Data management and analytics

Intended outcome

We have leading-edge data management, collection, and analytical capabilities and systems.

Why this is a priority

We need to keep pace with the evolving financial landscape and to better understand and address emerging risks. As such, we need to rely on cutting-edge data analytics and supporting technology to assess how our regulatory and supervisory actions affect financial institutions and to improve our policies, guidance, and interventions. Data management and analytics were identified as a priority at the beginning of our transformation journey in 2022 and will continue as initiatives related to this priority are complex and time consuming.

Goals for our data management and analytics priority

  • We are a leading data and analytics-driven regulator that makes well-informed decisions and is able to supervise and regulate pro-actively given changes in the risk environment.
  • Our data technology infrastructure, data quality and data governance support leading-edge data collection and analytical capabilities to fulfill legislative obligations to Financial Information Committee partners.
